It is rare to stumble upon an idea that catches you at the very instant you heard or read it. Fortunately, it happens now and then. And here’s today’s find:

On one or on several occasions in the course of their lives, even the most harmless people do not altogether escape coming into conflict with the fine virtues of piety and gratitude. Sooner or later each of us must take the step that separates him from his father, from his mentors; each of us must have some cruelly lonely experience–even if most people cannot take much of this and soon crawl back. I myself had not parted from my parents and their world, the “luminous” world in a violent struggle, but had gradually and almost imperceptibly become estranged. I was sad that it had to be this way and it made for many unpleasant hours during my visits back home; but it did not affect me deeply, it was bearable.

But where we have given of our love and respect not from habit but of our own free will, where we have been disciples and friends out of our inmost hearts, it is a bitter and horrible moment when we suddenly recognize that the current within us wants to pull us away from what is dearest to us. Then every thought that rejects the friend and mentor turns in our own hearts like a poisoned barb, then each blow struck in defense flies back into one’s own face, the words “disloyalty” and “ingratitude” strike the person who feels he was morally sound like catcalls and stigma, and the frightened heart flees timidly back to the charmed valleys of childhood virtues, unable to believe that this break, too, must be made, this bond also broken.

What if you wanted to spend some quality time riding a bicycle, far from the city and open to the nature? I thought it was a hard thing to do. Well it turned out to be easy. Have a look!

I’ve always thought of Bulgaria as a land “unfit” for bicycles. Well, a recent trip changed all that – in the foot of Sredna Gora mountain. Small viliges surrounded by beautiful nature, flat terrain without steep climbings, fantastic climate and fresh air, and almost no cars on the road – probably the best conditions for riding a bike, according to my understandings of course. The important thing is that you get out of the busy and hostile city, and enjoy some good company with physical activity and all the rest you need. It’s definitely something worth trying again. Just prepare some chocolates in your bagpack in case the next village store is too far :P

You hear the first 5 seconds of a piece, and then you decide you don’t want to listen to it, and immediately swith to the next one without even hearing it, without going through all the notions it can give you, and the result is some haotic listening that can’t affect you in the way the plain old audio casette did. Well, as a child of the 90′s I would say it’s not just like that. You load some 1300 songs in your player and set it to shuffle. And form 45 min. of subway and walking you realise that you haven’t pressed “Play next” even once. The music was all that you wanted to hear, all that was necessary to make your morning the way you want it – energizing and full of eagerness. Let me share some of that energy:
